On October 22, 2025, the members of the German Energy Storage Systems Association (BVES) gathered at the Friedrichstra\u00dfe Auditorium in Berlin to look back on the year 2025 and set the course for 2026.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

2025 Members' Assembly: Review, outlook, and new board of directors<\/h4>\n

The morning started with the reports from BVES President Thomas Speidel and Federal Managing Director Urban Windelen, the presentation of the 2024 annual financial statements, and the 2026 annual budget. The energy storage industry\u2014and with it the BVES\u2014continues to grow dynamically. The association now has over 400 members from a wide range of areas in the energy storage world. This steady growth highlights the growing importance of energy storage as a key technology in the energy transition.<\/p>\n

The election of the new BVES board was an important highlight of the program. The new composition of the board reflects the diversity and dynamism of the industry. New members of the board are: Bodo Mayer (Schluchseewerk AG), Andreas G\u00f6rtz (Rolls-Royce), Dr. Reinhild Hugenroth (TESVOLT AG), Ilona Dickschas (T\u00dcV NORD GROUP), Alexander H\u00e4ge (PFALZWERKE AG), Georg Gallmetzer (ECO STOR GmbH), Jaromir Simon (Tesla), and Dr. Alexander Meckelnborg (DENIOS). Together, they bring broad industry knowledge, different perspectives, and innovative ideas to the association's work.<\/p>\n

Annual Conference 2025: Energy storage between scapegoat and problem solver<\/h4>\n

The motto of the 2025 annual conference in the afternoon was \u201cEnergy storage: Between scapegoat and problem solver\u201d and covered current developments and challenges in the industry. A number of keynote speeches addressed key topics: the integration of storage into the energy system, co-location of wind power and storage, and new flexibility requirements for industry.<\/p>\n

One particular highlight of the conference was the keynote speech given by Klaus M\u00fcller, President of the Federal Network Agency (BNetzA), who spoke about the role and current initiatives of the agency, and Thomas K\u00f6nig, Member of the Board of Management at E.ON SE, who presented the challenges and possible solutions for efficient cooperation between network operators and storage facilities.<\/p>\n

The 2025 Members' Assembly once again showed the strength of the BVES community and its commitment to shaping the future of the energy storage industry.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
